The 10BaseT Ethernet Configuration Diagram illustrates the most popular way to wire Ethernet LANs today. This configuration consists of an Ethernet hub, or concentrator, connecting eight workstations. This is a star configuration and it is found in Ethernet networks that use twisted pair cable. The twisted pair cable uses RJ-45 connectors that connect directly to the NIC on the device end, and to the hub on the other end.
